As we begin to plan for the coming fall semester, we are starting to think about our new theme….MOMOLOGY…the art and science of mothering. To kick off this theme, we are planning a trip to the Franklin Institute which fits perfectly with the science part of mothering. The Cleopatra exhibit also fits in perfectly with our VBS theme: Escape to Egypt (July 26-30).
We plan to go on Thursday July 22, 2010. Each mom is responsible for transportation and parking. To cut down on cost, carpooling would be wonderful. You can arrive at the museum as early as 9:30am (your ticket includes the exhibit and general admission). Our scheduled time to walk through the Cleopatra exhibit is 10:30am. The exhibit takes about an hour and a half to walk through. We will be done walking through the exhibit in time for lunch at 12pm. You can bring a lunch or purchase lunch in the museum’s cafeteria.
If you would like to go, please let us know by filling out the contact form and you will receive correspondence soon.
The price of admission for you and each of your children is as follows:
- $13.25 per person (ages 4-adult) by Monday July 12th
- $15.00 per person (ages 4-adult) by Monday July 19th
- Infants through age 3 are free
This is a great savings compared to regular admission cost (adult $26.50, child $19.50). The exhibit is usually an additional cost.
Parking Details:
- Regular Cars: $12 up to 5 hrs
- Over-sized Vehicles (large SUVs): $15 up to 5 hrs
The parking garage does fill up quickly, but an attendant will be at the parking garage to direct you to other parking if it is full.
We are looking forward to a wonderful day together. Hope you can join us!
